Security starts with a reliable partner.
Trust isn’t built by chance, but through substance. Anyone investing in security and locking technology today looks beyond the product itself: What matters most are quality, availability, resilient supply chains, and a partner that remains capable of acting even on short notice. For nearly 140 years, Beyer & Müller has stood for exactly that—as a family-run German company with in-house development and manufacturing, high in-house value creation, and expertise in lock and security technology that has grown over generations.
For Beyer & Müller, “Made in Germany” is not just a label, but a way of life. Regional networks, modern manufacturing, and the long-term commitment of a family-owned business shape our work.
Where reliable performance, consistent quality and dependable collaboration are required, Beyer & Müller and products under the BMH brand offer solutions you can rely on for the long term
When every second counts, every detail has to work.

When it counts, every second matters—and every detail must work flawlessly. Panic locks from Beyer & Müller are designed precisely for this purpose: In the event of an emergency or danger, they enable quick, safe door opening without compromising stability and operational reliability. Certified to EN 1125 → and EN 179 →, respectively, they meet European standards for panic door locks with panic bars and emergency exit locks with handles or strike plates—depending on whether a door is used by the general public or by users familiar with the premises.
With the SV Series, Beyer & Müller is expanding this safety-related expertise to include a high-performance product family for a wide range of applications, from heavily trafficked escape routes to special structural requirements. The product line is complemented by proven series such as the 1000, 1017 and 450 locks, which have stood the test of time in practical use for years.
What all these products have in common is the same foundation: precise design, robust manufacturing, and many years of expertise in series production. This results in consistent quality that operators and planners can rely on, even in critical moments.
SV Series – Self-Locking Panic Locks
Experience maximum security and the highest level of convenience with our new self-locking panic lock—available in panic versions B, C, and E.
Secure your rooms with reliable technology that combines both a latch and a bolt. Our panic lock not only offers optimal protection but also ensures a quick and easy escape in an emergency.
The lock offers certified security and meets the highest standards: tested in accordance with EN 179, EN 1125, and EN 12209.
Lock No. 1000 – Reliable safety for fire and smoke-resistant doors
The BMH mortise lock No. 1000 was developed for use in fire and smoke control doors and is designed to meet Class 4 requirements in accordance with EN 12209 and DIN 18251.
The lock is designed for profile cylinders and has a 72-mm center-to-center distance in the PZ version. Depending on the version, spindle lengths ranging from 55 to 100 mm are available. The latch and bolt are made of steel and nickel-plated; the enclosed lock case is galvanized. The strike plate comes standard with a 9-mm square profile.
Compliance with EN 12209 ensures tested security. This makes the BMH No. 1000 a robust solution for fire and smoke protection doors and partitions where reliable locking and long-term functionality are required.
Lock No. 1017 – Dual cylinder cutouts for special door requirements
Radiation-shielding doors protect sensitive areas from ionizing radiation and feature a shielding insert in the door panel for this purpose. Conventional mortise locks can compromise this protective barrier in the area of the handle and lock cylinder.
The BMH 1017 radiation protection lock solves this challenge by offsetting the positions of the handle and cylinder. As a result, the operating elements on both sides of the door are not directly opposite each other. This prevents a continuous opening through the radiation shielding layer, allowing the shielding insert to extend effectively into the lock area.
At the same time, the lock performs the classic functions of a mortise lock: the latch holds the closed door in place, while the bolt ensures secure locking.
The BMH 1017 thus combines reliable locking technology with the specific design requirements of radiation protection doors. Also available in a panic version (1018).
Lock No. 450 – Rugged locking technology for commercial applications
The BMH Government-Grade Mortise Lock No. 450 is designed to provide reliable security for high-security doors. The lock complies with DIN 18251, Class 4, and combines a robust construction with versatile applications.
The enclosed, galvanized lock case is equipped with a latch retainer. The latch and bolt are made of nickel-plated zamak. The lock is available with a backset of 55 to 100 mm and features a 20- or 24-mm-wide stainless steel faceplate with an oil hole. Locking options include versions for profile cylinders with interchangeable inserts, round cylinders, cut-key cylinders, and bathroom locks, among others.
The BMH No. 450 also offers various options for special requirements, making the lock a highly configurable solution for robust commercial and government building doors.
